I am merely an ant...

Merely an ant.....that's me. But they say that ants can move mountains. I never used to be socially or politically engaged until recently. Recent Australian politics has been...well....just plain embarrassing if you ask me. Frankly I can't believe that we've gone so far backwards so quickly with, let's face it, only minor ripples in the larger scheme of things. No social revolution, no demonstrations in the streets, no chaining people to trees...or refugee boats....

So back to that ant....that's me. Well I have a voice....& a brain. And I'm female....well fancy that! More remarkably....I choose not to watch the nightly news. Well fancy that!

So I'm merely a humble ant with my head in the sand you might decide....since I don't watch the news. Have you ever stopped to think about how drowned in 'news' we are each day?!? Subliminally we receive & absorb more news than you'd guess! Think about it....the car radio whilst driving with news breaks, news headlines in shop windows or on pavements, facebook or twitter updates, talking to people....being told by people who think you won't know cos you don't watch the news....

NEWS FLASH ... this ant says that NOT watching the news each night makes for a clearer mind. Snippets of bits here & there add up. And frequently they add up to more than the 2 minute network-biased nightly news segment adds up to. I promise - would I lie??

This ant - with a voice - & a brain - & a female one at that - is planning on sharing her cynical 'truths'. What's truth I hear you say?? Well MY truth is YOUR fiction.

So stay tuned for the truth...or the fiction....whatever....

Oh yeah, don't expect me to plant my little pearls of wisdom here each day cos I'm not the nightly news. There is value in humility. So, humble offerings..... Oh Lord it's hard to be humble!
